The Old Vicarage
Hi friends, we're Kirsty & Gareth, and we are very proud to call The Old Vicarage (‘Yr Hen Ficerdy’ in Welsh) our home. She is a beautiful old slate building built in 1875, beside a little stream and fits handsomely in our forest backdrop.
We are situated in the beautiful Dulas valley, surrounded by dramatic scenery and lots of options for adventure. It is an ideal location for walkers, mountain bikers, photographers, plane and train enthusiasts, to name a few.
From the breakfast room you can observe the puff of steam from the passing Corris steam train, watch the jets perform mid week training down the Mach Loop, unwind after a hike up Cader Idris, or head round the corner to Dyfi Bike Park for some extreme downhill biking.
The Old Vicarage is just 3 miles from Machynlleth, 5 minute walk to Corris steam train station, 5 miles to Cad East/West, 2 miles to Dyfi Bike Park, 4 miles from the Dol Idris start point for Cader Idris, and only 10 miles from the beautiful beach town of Aberdovey with its stunning Golf course.
Our bedrooms are set on the first floor of The Old Vicarage with stair access. Smith & Roach rooms have fabulous views across the Dulas valley with Chester overlooking the rear gardens, stream and waterall, and the Goddard room has a sumptuous deep bath, perfect to unwind in.
Each room is individually designed and all have en-suite bathrooms.

Eryri | Snowdonia
One of Britains breathing spaces
Situated on the west coast of Britain covering 823 square miles of diverse landscapes, Snowdonia National Park is a living working area, home to over 26,000 people.
As well as being the largest National Park in Wales, Eryri (Snowdonia) boasts the highest mountain and the largest natural lake in Wales, as well as a wealth of picturesque villages like Betws y Coed and Beddgelert. Snowdonia is an area steeped in culture and local history, where more than half its population speak Welsh.
The National Park Authority’s aims are to conserve and enhance the natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage of the area, promote opportunities to understand and enjoy its special qualities; and to foster the economic and social well-being of its communities.
We moved to Corris, from our careers and homes in the South-East, looking to be closer to family & friends, a slower pace of life and beautiful surroundings.
We took our previous experience in hospitality and combined that with the opportunity to share with our guests the history and beauty of our home.
We pride ourselves on adding ‘little touches’ that make a stay at The Old Vicarage special. We are looking forward to spoiling you during your stay at The Old Vicarage.

"If all B&B’s were as good as The Old Vicarage, you would never stay in a hotel again. The location, rooms, bar service and breakfast were excellent. Gareth and Kirsty are the new owners and they looked after my wife and I, together with our friends, extremely well. Even had some lovely complimentary bara brith in the room. I would not hesitate to recommend the Old Vicarage and hope to stay there again soon." - Robert
"Our stay at the Vicarage was fantastic. Kirsty and Gareths hospitality was above and beyond expectations. The breakfasts were outstanding and the rooms were amazing. I would 100% recommend this B&B to anyone wanting a great location and luxury accomodation for exploring the national park." - Sarah
